Directions from M1

  1. At Junction 29, take A617 to Chesterfield, then follow signs for A619 towards Bakewell. Follow A619 all way to Baslow, past Cavendish Hotel on left, at next roundabout take first turn left signed A619 Bakewell.
  2. Take next big right turn (in around 500 yds, a prominent junction with big road sign & refuge area in middle of road), signed for Bakewell.
  3. Road winds round many very sharp bends up & up - take the first right turn just over crest of hill – A6020 signed to Buxton.
  4. Go on straight over roundabout, under stone railway bridge, then take the right fork at little grassy triangle signed to Great Longstone.
  5. Go immediately under bridge and follow road round sharp left bend.
  6. Drive through Great Longstone past the White Lion & The Crispin on left, then at the left bend take right turn into Moor Road.
  7. Past about 8 houses on left, after a big lamp post you’ll see a ‘no speed limit’ sign ahead (white circle, black diagonal line): take drive immediately before that.

Directions from A6 (Buxton/ Bakewell/ Matlock directions)

  1. Take the turning for the A6020 at Ashford in the Water.
  2. Continue for about a mile past big estate on left, till you take a left turn signed for Great Longstone.
  3. Continue at point 5 above.

Directions from A623

  1. Take the turn for the B6465 at a dip in the road, signed for Wardlow/ Ashford/ Monsal Dale
  2. Continue on B6465 through Wardlow & over hill then as come down you’ll see the Monsal Head Hotel on right side of road. Turn LEFT in front of this hotel (signed for Little & Great Longstone)
  3. Go through Little Longstone (very small!), on to Great Longstone (there is a village sign).
  4. Past about 10-12 houses on left then road bends sharp right with chevrons. DON’T go round this bend, instead TURN LEFT onto Moor Road.
  5. Continue at point 7 above.
